Dictation
Guide

Learn how to use Scribeberry’s AI-powered dictation for hands-free, voice-to-text clinical charting with in-line editing.

Dictation with Scribeberry

Hands-free speech-to-text for lightning-fast charting in Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and every specialty in between. Speak 3–4× faster than you type—finish a full SOAP in under 2 minutes. Raw speech is auto-punctuated, cleaned of filler words, and formatted to your chosen template.

Step-by-Step: Dictating a Note

1. Launch Dictation Mode: click the blue + → Dictation or Quick Action → Dictate. 2. Select Dictation as your template. 3. Press Record & speak naturally. 4. Watch the live transcript appear in real time—pause and resume anytime. 5. Click Generate: AI cleans punctuation, headings, medication names & units to produce a polished note. 6. Review & Smart Push: one-click push into EMR fields, copy-paste, or export as PDF/email.

In-Line Dictation Edits (“Red-Mic Mode”)

Need to add a last-minute symptom or medication after the AI note is generated? Dictate straight into any section—no re-generation required. Open the finished note, hover and double-click the field you want to tweak (e.g., Plan). Tap the red mic icon, speak your update, and the text appears instantly—punctuated and aligned with your template’s formatting.

Power-User Tips

Insert macros by voice—say “Insert dot-phrase” to auto-expand boilerplate text. Use hands-free formatting commands like “New Paragraph” or “Bullet List.” Add non-verbal data by typing vitals or attaching images mid-dictation; the final note merges everything. Set global memories once (e.g., “Always use narrative format in Plan”) and every dictation follows suit.
